Successful Development Of A Scalable And Robust Process For MSC-EV Production
By Stephen Lenzini, Jae Jung, Grishma Patel, Sanket Jadhav, Priyanka Gupta, Rukmini Ladi, Michael Boychyn, Jon Rowley, and Elie Zakhem

Mesenchymal stromal/stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles (MSC-EVs) are generating increasing excitement in regenerative medicine and therapeutic development. However, scaling EV production from lab to clinic remains a major hurdle. RoosterBio has tackled this challenge by engineering a robust, scalable upstream process using xeno-free MSCs, optimized media, and stirred-tank bioreactors. The resulting process delivers consistent, high-yield EV harvests at both small and large scales, with confirmed particle identity, biofunctionality, and potency.
