Scalable GMP-Compatible Process Solution For MSC-EV Purification With 10X Yield Improvements
By Stephen Lenzini, PhD, Jae Jung, Madeline Cramer, PhD, Elie Zakhem, PhD, and Jon Rowley, PhD

The growing interest in extracellular vesicles (EVs) from mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) for clinical trials highlights the critical need for scalable, GMP-compatible production and purification methods. A significant challenge in MSC-EV production is the low cumulative yield, often less than 10% after downstream processing (DSP), which drives up costs.
This poster introduces a novel reagent, "Agent V," developed to overcome these purification hurdles and substantially improve EV yield. Agent V streamlines DSP, minimizes filter fouling, and significantly increases total EV recovery by over 10-fold, without compromising critical quality attributes.
