ProConnex® MixOne® RG-X Single-Use Mixers: Automated pH Adjustment

Source: Repligen
Proconnex

Linking pH dosing to how far a process deviates from its target can dramatically improve control and predictability. A dose-and-wait approach allows for aggressive correction when pH is far from setpoint, then gradually refines dosing as conditions stabilize, reducing the risk of overshoot with the help of deadband control and anti-drip steps. Process variables such as vessel volume, mixing dynamics, reagent strength, buffer capacity, tubing configuration, and proximity to neutral all influence system response and must be carefully tuned. Results from 250 L and 500 L runs demonstrate consistent performance across acidic, neutral, and basic setpoints, with added emphasis on more cautious tuning near neutral conditions to avoid oscillation.

Explore practical strategies to dial in your parameters and improve pH control performance in your next process run.
