Enhancing AAV Purification In Gene Therapy Manufacturing
A major challenge in AAV bioprocessing is developing a platform to selectively capture AAVs from cell culture impurities and, critically, separate genome-containing (full) from genome-free (empty) capsids. This discussion highlights that chromatographic media for AAV capture should have broad affinity for various serotypes, while polishing media must effectively separate full from empty capsids, both aiming for increased recovery and impurity removal.
