Animal-Origin Free Peptones In Cell Culture Media For Viral Vaccine Manufacturing

Viral vector-based vaccines, such as those using adenovirus and vesicular stomatitis virus, are highly effective but face challenges in cost and scalability. This study explores the use of animal-origin free (AOF) peptones to enhance cell growth and viral titers in serum-free or reduced-serum media. Results show improved peak cell density, higher virus yields, and no inhibition of virus infection, making AOF peptones a promising alternative to serum-based processes.
