AES' Modular Cleanroom Solutions Integral With New GMP Cell & Gene Therapy Manufacturing Facility For CDMO Theragent

Cleanroom

Cell therapy is part of an immensely exciting wave of developments in life sciences. New breakthroughs are regularly occurring that will positively impact the lives of patients by addressing a wide range of conditions, from blindness, to gut motility, to cancer.

Scientists working in this field acknowledge that perhaps the most important single factor in the work surrounding cell therapies is simple…clean. For our team at AES Clean Technologies, clean is at the heart of every part of the process of defining, designing, and delivering cleanroom systems for our customers. The work we did with Theragent, an innovative CDMO focused on developing and manufacturing cell and gene immunotherapies for the treatment of cancer and rare diseases, is a perfect example of our process and the expertise behind it.

Working collaboratively with the Theragent team, AES Clean Technology transformed a 30,000 square foot warehouse site into a state-of-the-art GMP manufacturing facility. By taking advantage of AES’s unique COMPASS program design process and as an early adopter of our and FaciliFlex Module, Theragent’s facility was brought online in a timely and cost-effective way.

The AES Clean Technology cleanroom design and construction teams worked to meet Theragent’s particular needs, including a requirement for 100% outside air, necessitating reinforcement of the existing roof structure to accommodate air handling units. Working with project partner DPR Construction, the team was able to find a solution that met that need, but also supported a custom walkable ceiling system.

“We chose AES because of their experience, and we chose AES because of this new custom fit design. It allowed us to accomplish our state-of-the-art GMP manufacturing facility” said Jeff Masten, COO of Theragent.

AES Clean Technology’s unique cleanroom design technology enabled the team to design the building virtually, identifying any issues long before tools were in hands. In addition, the AES Clean Technology delivery method used pre-engineered building blocks and optimized panel sizes to create a customized, efficient project delivery experience for Theragent. Our team prides itself on being collaborative creators, problem-solvers, and true partners throughout the cleanroom construction process. With the end user, the patient, always in mind, AES Clean Technology is proud to be the right choice for thousands of cleanroom construction projects over our decades in business.
