Application Note

Rapid Endonuclease (Benzonase) Quantification

Source: bio-techne
Bio-techne - endonuclease

Endonuclease is a non-specific nuclease that degrades DNA and RNA by breaking phosphodiester bonds without any proteolytic activity. Endonucleases play a pivotal role in the viral vector preparation for cell and gene therapies. However, it is crucial to eliminate any residual impurities downstream, as these contaminants can negatively impact the safety and efficacy of the therapeutic.

In this application note, we present a robust and automated assay that is both selective and sensitive, allowing for efficient detection of Benzonase® and Denarase® impurities in bioprocess samples. The Simple Plex Endonuclease assay is available to run on Ella in 16x1 and 32x1 cartridge formats and is available as part of the Simple Plex stocking program.
