Process Improvements, Technology And Talent Key To The Future Of Cell & Gene Therapy

We sat down with Wade Macedone, Chief Operating Officer at Andelyn Biosciences, to talk about how process improvement and operational excellence play an important role in the future of Cell & Gene Therapies.

Process improvement and operational excellence is important to all pharmaceutical manufacturing. But how is it even more critical in the cell and gene space?

Cell and Gene Therapies are still maturing as an industry and there has been an exceedingly large investment in the field over the last couple years to help develop enough manufacturing capacity to keep up with growing demands. As the industry matures over time, it will be necessary to streamline and harmonize manufacturing platforms to maximize facility utilization, improve yields, improve product robustness, and scale to commercial demand.
