To successfully commercialize iPSC-based therapies, manufacturers need robust, closed, and automated cell processing technologies that ensure reproducibility and preserve cell health at industrial scale. This study investigates the performance of an integrated platform featuring Vertical-Wheel® bioreactors and the UniFuge® Cell Processing Platform for scalable PSC aggregate manufacturing. Key performance metrics—including cell recovery, post-harvest proliferation, aggregate morphology, and pluripotency marker expression—were rigorously quantified across multiple passages. The goal was to validate a low-shear, automated system that minimizes cell stress and simplifies large-volume handling, paving the way for industrial translation.

Explore the findings of this study to learn how these advanced technologies can overcome critical scale-up hurdles.
