Integrating Cutting-Edge Technologies In Cell Bank Manufacturing Process

We are deeply committed to enhancing our client experience by embracing cutting-edge technologies that elevate the quality and efficiency of our operations. As part of our ongoing dedication to strengthening our cell bank manufacturing process in alignment with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), we have strategically invested in the research and development of cellular harvest processes using various closed-system enabled centrifuge solutions. These systems typically feature a single-use kit that integrates multiple inputs—such as fresh growth media, buffer rinse, and cell stock—alongside two outputs: waste (conditioned media) and concentrated cells. A Human Machine Interface (HMI) is programmed to execute cell-specific protocols, leveraging advanced separation technologies like specific density gradients, counterflow separation, and acoustic standing waves. Once separation is complete, the concentrated cells are retained and seamlessly transferred to the next stage of production.
After extensive R&D trials with multiple closed centrifuge units, we have chosen to implement the CTS™ Rotea™ Counterflow Centrifuge for our cell banking harvest. This decision marks a significant step in our mission to fully enclose cell bank production, which enables us to integrate state-of-the-art technology into our workflows with precision, scalability, and automation. By minimizing open-vessel operator intervention—regardless of bank size—we continue to uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional manufacturing outcomes.
