2024 Global Biopharma Sustainability Review

Cytiva collaborated with FT Longitude to conduct the research necessary to address these important questions. The findings reveal that sustainability has become a top priority in the industry, biopharma leaders understand the need for decarbonization, and industry leaders report significant progress in reducing water consumption, optimizing electricity use, and increasing reliance on recyclable materials.

This report draws on data from 800 pharma and biopharma professionals at the director level and above. These professionals span 18 countries, with 26% occupying C-suite or board-level positions, and 30% coming from organizations with annual revenues exceeding $1 billion. Additionally, several in-depth interviews were conducted with industry experts to explore how biopharma companies are prioritizing sustainability and to examine the progress that has already been made.
