Genomic Medicine At An Inflection Point

Genomic medicine is entering a new phase of evolution. While ex vivo cell therapies laid the foundation for the field, development efforts are now rapidly shifting toward in vivo approaches to enable broader patient access and more scalable treatment paradigms. At the same time, remaining ex vivo therapies are trending toward shorter and more streamlined manufacturing processes, reflecting growing pressure on timelines, robustness, and delivery at scale.This talk will examine the drivers behind these transitions and how they are reshaping the genomic medicine landscape. By contrasting emerging in vivo strategies with the next generation of ex vivo processes, the discussion will highlight key technical and strategic inflection points facing the field today. The aim is to frame where genomic medicines are heading—and what this evolution means for the way therapies are designed, developed, and ultimately delivered.
