Flexible Fill Line Retrofit

Our client’s objective for the flex fill project was to install a new, independent filling suite for manufacturing specialized sterile injectable products. The new line would increase capacity with a state-of-the-art flexible filling line and associated ancillary support functions. This new capability was important as a CMO. Manufacturing continued throughout the duration of the project.

With IPS’ support in evaluating technology options, our client selected a specialized flexible filling line. The line is capable of filling syringes, cartridges, and vials of liquid and lyophilized products. The sophisticated line, utilizing presterilized components and single-use technologies, will bring much more capability to our client and their customers.

IPS also provided vendor management services in support of the many activities involved in the procurement of the filling line, including vendor kick-off meetings, isolator mock-up, design reviews, and FAT.

The project was designed extensively with BIM software. In collaboration with subcontractors and vendors, BIM enhanced the coordination between disciplines and trades in the field. The software streamlined the client acceptance and installation process of all parties in the collaborative effort.

IPS added value to this project by including early input from the construction team during the detailed design phase. This enhanced the procurement and execution phases of the project.

IPS was dedicated to the selection of the on-site construction management team as well as knowledgeable subcontractors and vendors, to complete the execution phase of the project. This was a critical component to the success of the project.
