CAR T-cell therapy for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) faces a critical challenge: many promising targets, including CD33 and CD123, are also found on healthy hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells. Targeting these antigens can cause prolonged myelosuppression and bone marrow aplasia.
